CalArts presents Guest Chef Usanee Pistole

Chef Usanee Pistole was born in northern Thailand. The inspiration to become a chef stemmed from growing up watching her grandmother cook. Her fondest memory of cooking with her grandmother was perfecting spicy green curry chicken where she was taught to get coconut milk from an actual coconut and to make the curry paste with a mortar and pestle. She attended culinary school at the Cordon Bleu school of culinary arts in Pasadena and has been with Bon Appétit Management Company since 2008 as an Executive Chef at the Master’s College in Newhall and the Walt Disney Studios in Glendale.
